Massachusetts law defines certain professionals as mandated reporters. If you are one of these professionals and you have a suspicion or concern that a child is being abused or at risk of abuse or neglect you must file a child abuse report with the Department of Children and Families. You can also report the abuse to local law enforcement officials, especially when you feel that the child is at imminent risk.

Essex CAC strives to reduce the impact of trauma on victims and families, while increasing access to child and family advocates, medical evaluation and treatment, mental health referral and the criminal justice system.
The Essex CAC is a public-private partnership agency that works closely with key partners who have signed memorandums of understanding.
